Sweet Wine Selection – Mountain Rose Vineyards – Blair White

Blair_0Working under the banner “From Mines to Wines”, Mountain Rose Vineyards is the first wine grape operation in Wise Virginia.  In an area of the state long known for coal production, David Lawson saw something more.  While he was still in high school he planted a test vineyard.  He later went on to gain training at both Virginia Tech and Cornell before launching Mountain Rose.  A true family affair, Mountain Rose Vineyards is a delightful addition to the Southwest Virginia Appalachian region.

Mountain Rose Vineyards Blair White (N.V.) – Almost parchment like in color, this white table wine features a nose filled with citrus and honey, the fruit forward attack leads to a tropical midpalate that includes pineapple, lemon and mango.  The finish lingers nicely with additional tropical notes including hibiscus.  Enjoy as an aperitif or with spicier fare.
